1.  For a longer lasting candle, when lighting it for the first time, be sure to burn it until the surface of the candle is completely melted. This normally takes about 2 to 4 hours. Before relighting, snap off the charred bits - fingers work.

2. For an optimal burn each time, trim the wick 1/4 of an inch before lighting to avoid shooting and unnecessary smoke.

3. Allow candle to melt to the edge of the vessel. This prevents future tunneling. If tunneling occurs wrap aluminum foil around the outside of the candle so that the top extends inward over the un-melted wax like a roof while leaving the center open for the flame. After 1-2 hours of burning, your candle surface should even out with a pool of melted wax that reaches the edge of the container.

 

4. Always let wax harden before relighting, touching, or moving.

 

5. Keep all candles away from children, pets, and flammable materials. Burn candles in a safe space and clear from all clutter and draft.

6. Do not use the candle lid to extinguish your candle. 

​

7. Avoid falling asleep with candle still burning. Never leave your lit candle unattended.

​

8. Because the glass gets extremely hot, use caution when handling lit candles. Please allow sufficient  time to cool before handling or moving a candle. Avoid spilling wax to avoid an uneven burn. 

​

9. Avoid excessive burn time, no more than 4 hours is recommended.

​

10. When there is about 1/2 inch of wax, discontinue the burning of your candle. A candle should never burn every last piece of the way inside of it as this creates the perfect scenario for vessel shattering due to overheating.

 

Proper candle care is essential in ensuring a clean, long-lasting candle as well as safety. Please follow the the instructions included on your candle care card within your package for maximum safety and perfected burning.
